Using Webinars to Pre-Qualify Customers
Marketing Mondays with Marci B.

The phrase "time is money" is especially true for business owners who invest time in prospecting potential clients, only to find out later that the lead isn't a good fit for your product or service. Although many salespeople believe, "sales is a numbers game" and "each no gets you closer to a yes", entrepreneurs can often feel burnt out from spinning their wheels on unqualified prospects. Many people who are not quite ready to spend money on a particular product or service will still gather information, especially if it is at little to no cost to them.
Webinars offer business owners an opportunity to interactively engage with many customers at once, which saves plenty of time on individual consults. You also have the ability to host a Q&A session where prospects can answer questions that can be applicable to other webinar attendees. Here are some tips to get started:
- Find a webinar hosting platform.
- Select your customer segment.
- Consider your customer persona.
- Pinpoint your prospects pain points.
- Decide how your product/service provides a solution.
- Write the script.
- Find imagery to enhance messaging.
- Combine script and imagery to create presentation.
- Create a one-time offer to share with attendees as a "thank you".
- Create a limited-time offer to sell attendees at the end of the webinar.
- Create a sign-up form.
- Promote the webinar with a pre-webinar campaign.
- Thank your webinar attendees for joining you.
- Ask where everyone is calling in from
- Be enthusiastic during your presentation.
- Offer a Q&A to facilitate engagement.
- Provide a special one-time offer as a bonus for remaining attendees.
- Share a limited time offer to create a sense of urgency.
- Offer a follow up email with a link to replay.
- Add all attendees to your list of marketing contacts.
